INTERACTIVE EXAMPLE · NOT A REAL TRANSCRIPTION
Open the post and copy its full status URL. Paste it above. The post needs an attached recorded video with accessible audio.
Check the duration and free allowance or credit cost. Confirm transcription to process the recording's spoken audio.
Review names, numbers and quotations against the video. Correct timestamped segments, then copy the words or download TXT.
Try up to 3 successful transcripts per UTC day, each up to 5 minutes. The allowance is shared with the other supported platforms and uploads. Editing, copying and TXT are included; any free-budget pause appears before processing.
Longer recordings and paid batches use the same one-time credit packs. One credit covers one started minute. You see the quote before confirming, and failed transcripts release their reservation.
Paste x.com/USER/status/ID. It must identify a public post with an attached recorded video, not a profile or text-only tweet.
twitter.com/USER/status/ID identifies the same post. The old hostname is accepted and resolved through the same workflow.
A /video/1 suffix is accepted. For multiple attachments, we process the first recorded video. Other video positions and quoted-post videos are not selected.
A transcript is a written record of the words spoken in a video. This Twitter transcript generator recognizes the audio, then gives you editable segments. It does not turn tweet text into a transcript or read words that only appear on screen.
Use the text to revisit an interview, make notes from a short explanation or prepare subtitles for a recording you can use. Accents, background music and overlapping voices can cause mistakes; always check important quotations.
The editor keeps the original segment timings when you change recognized words. Copying and TXT are free. SRT, VTT and DOCX require credits: unlock a completed free task once for 1 credit, or choose paid transcription with exports included.
English is currently verified. Automatic detection does not translate dialogue or establish accuracy for untested languages.
Only submit content you own, that is publicly accessible, or that you are authorized to process. We temporarily retrieve media for speech recognition and delete it after processing and within 24 hours. We do not offer the source video as a download or access your X account.
Results are private by default. Guest transcripts remain accessible in this browser for 7 days; account transcripts remain until deleted. Sharing a reviewed transcript is optional and does not make its source media public. See our privacy and retention details.
Use https://x.com/USER/status/ID or the same post under twitter.com, www.twitter.com or mobile.twitter.com. A /video/1 suffix is also accepted. We resolve these to the same post. Profile pages, t.co short links, /video/2 and other video positions are not supported inputs.
No. Only public recorded videos that the provider can retrieve without your X account are supported. We do not use your browser cookies or ask for your X password. Deleted, age-restricted or otherwise inaccessible posts may fail even when their URL has the right format.
We transcribe the first attached recorded video, in the order returned for that post. /video/1 selects that same first video. We do not combine multiple clips or follow a quoted post to retrieve its video. Upload a different clip only if you are authorized to process it.
No. Spaces, broadcast links, active live streams and streaming-only recordings are outside this link workflow. A completed stream is not automatically a supported post. Use a public post with an accessible complete recorded video, or upload an authorized file.
You can complete 3 successful transcripts per UTC day without signing up, each up to 5 minutes. This allowance is shared across all supported platforms and uploads, resets at 00:00 UTC and is subject to the displayed trial budget. Editing, copying and TXT are included.
The editor shows timestamped segments. TXT and copying are free. SRT, VTT and DOCX require credits: unlock a free transcript once for 1 credit, or use paid transcription with those exports included. Timestamps remain fixed when you correct words.
Captions are not required. We recognize speech from the recording's audio rather than copying the tweet text, descriptions or on-screen text. English is currently verified. Automatic detection is available, but untested languages are not verified support and this tool does not translate.
A text-only post, photo, animated GIF or quoted video is not a supported attached video input. Music or unintelligible speech may produce no reliable spoken words. If a valid transcript is not delivered, reserved credits and free attempts are released.
We temporarily retrieve media to process its audio; this is not a video downloader for users. Media is deleted after processing and within 24 hours. Guest transcripts expire after 7 days; account transcripts remain until you delete them. Results are private by default. Optional public sharing requires your explicit action and remains excluded from search indexing.
Free videos can be up to 5 minutes. Paid processing supports up to 60 minutes and 100 MB per item at 1 credit per started minute. Signed-in users can submit paid batches of up to 20 supported links. Review the quote before confirming; there is no time-range selection or automatic splitting.
Check that the link opens the specific public post, that it has an attached recorded video with audible speech, and that it fits the displayed limits. Copy the full status link or its /video/1 form. Platform restrictions can prevent retrieval. If you have an authorized MP3, MP4, WAV or M4A copy, use Upload instead.
No. ShortTranscript is an independent tool. Only process content you own, that is publicly accessible, or that you are authorized to use. A transcript does not grant permission to republish another person's video or speech.
Return to the TikTok transcript generator for the main workflow, file uploads and platform navigation. The daily allowance is shared; it is not a separate free quota for each platform.
